Features:
The SMCFS1601P provides power to attached devices,
such as VoIP phones, wireless access points, surveillance
cameras etc, all over existing Cat. 5 cables. The switch
can provide 8/15.4/30 Watts through each port depending
on device needs. The total PoE power budget for the
switch is 200W. If attached devices draw over 200W, the
switch provides a network function only. When using the
PoE function, port LEDs indicate PoE power. The switch
eliminates the need for individual power sources for
devices in the network, saving on costs for power cables
and avoiding power outlet availability issues.
IEEE 802.3az Energy-Efficient Ethernet Support
When two 802.3az-compliant switches are connected, up
to 56%* of power consumption can be saved.
Support for Quality of Service
When the switch receives a frame tagged with an 802.1p
priority tag, it is placed in the appropriate priority queue.
Priority queuing is useful in environments where timesensitive
data, such as voice and video, are streamed
across the network.
Auto MDI/MDI-X on Each Port
Support for Auto-MDIX means that no crossover cables
are required. Straight-through cables can be used for all
connections.
