Hard Drives 3 years. Monitors 1 year. 1-year advance replacement warranty when you buy from Custom Video Security.  Direct tech support from Dahua to low-voltage installers and to the end-user. Very wide product line including: ePoE (converts coax lines to use IP cameras at the lowest cost in the industry; or triples the distance of IP without any need for repeaters/extenders). Starlight cameras see color at nighttime with minimal ambient lighting. Video: https://youtu.be/NaFHmwXI6Zk?t=5. Identify skin color, hair color, clothing color, vehicle color, etc. So much more effective than traditional IR cameras. The levels of Dahua’s starlight are attached. Case Study–Cannabis Grow House in Los Angeles, California

Case Study–Cannabis Grow House In 2017, a Los Angeles County-based grow house, which will go unnamed for security and privacy reasons, contacted us to design and install a security camera system. One of the partners had a copy of his local security requirements for operating the facility, and so we scheduled a free site inspection to survey the property. On the day of the site inspection, their security consisted of a non-security guard camped out in a trailer on a gated driveway, three dogs, consumer-grade doors and locks, and an intrusion alarm system. The various areas requiring coverage included the entrance, exits, hallways, a large laboratory-style room with expensive lab equipment, several temperature and light-controlled grow rooms, a network/security room with MDF closet where the recorder was to be installed, multiple hallways leading to each of these rooms, and rooftop coverage because of the easy access from a neighboring building. They required at least 90 days […]

IP NVR or HD-DVR? Here is a web chat I had today. Read best practices here.

Chatting with Guest Ray/eDigital: Hi, what can I do for you? Guest: Is this a good unit. It seems the price is extremely reasonable. Guest: https://customvideosecurity.com/hikvision-16-channel-1-5u-nvr-with-16ch-poe-real-time-1080p-viewing-up-to-5mp-recording-80mbps-240mbps-rs485-audio-alarm-esata-de-branded-2yr.html Ray/eDigital: yes but I have a better one for you, same software. One moment Guest: Does this unit actually act as an alarm interface. Guest: and what is that Ray/eDigital: There is this one, which is very similar, but lower price and better warranty:https://customvideosecurity.com/lts-platinum-16ch-80mbps-standalone-nvr-with-16-port-poe-1-5u-up-to-5mp-vga-hdmi-cvbs-4x-sata-gigabit-1x-audio-alarm-usb-nas-san-esata-3yr.html Ray/eDigital: same exact software and hardware; just different logos on the box Guest: why the difference in price Ray/eDigital: And then there is this one: https://customvideosecurity.com/lts-platinum-32ch-160mbps-standalone-nvr-with-16-port-poe-1-5u-up-to-5mp-vga-hdmi-cvbs-4x-sata-gigabit-1x-audio-alarm-usb-nas-san-esata-3yr.html, which is double the channels you were originally looking at, better warranty, double the bitrate, and just $40 or so more Ray/eDigital: genuine Hikvision versus LTS Platinum, both of which are trusted names in professional video surveillance. Ray/eDigital: Hikvision just has a much larger marketing budget Ray/eDigital: You can use LTS Platinum cameras with Hik NVRs, and Hik IP Cameras with LTS Platinum interchangeably because it’s all Hik hardware and software Guest: it looks like the first 16c has CAT5 while the second 32c has analog input Ray/eDigital: I’m actually doing that for another customer as we type Ray/eDigital: no these are both NVRs […]
