Mobile/vehicle surveillance monitoring cameras are typically specialized, as they are manufactured with ruggedized aviation connectors. These special connectors make them incompatible with non-vehicle recorders.
The most common applications for mobile vehicle security cameras are on board school buses, city buses, passenger trains, subway trains, emergency vehicles, police cars, military vehicles, airplanes, and ships/boats.
Mobile vehicle camera systems are designed to monitor the perimeter of the vehicle, as well as the indoor passengers. They typically record short-term archives to an on-board recorder in main stream video (highest resolution and frame rame), and then send long-term archives over Wi-Fi to the main central station once the vehicle is stopped or parked in a Wi-Fi area.
When adding optional 4G cellular service, an above-ground vehicle can transmit real-time monitoring video and status. This is typically done using the video's sub stream (reduced resolution and reduced frame rate).
When adding the optional GPS feature, an above-ground vehicle can have monitoring capabilities including speed and location of the driver at any given time (speed in various weather conditions, routes taken, stops made, etc.).
Additional mobile vehicle accessories interface with the management software and include an impact sensor to detect collisions, temperature sensor to detect risk situations, and many more.
